We invite you to the first event of the season, “The Beginning of Autumn,” dedicated to the arrival of this beautiful time of year. According to the traditional Chinese calendar, on 7 August the energy of nature begins to gradually shift from growth towards decline. This change is reflected both in the natural world and within us, and it can be easily noticed when we observe carefully.

This event introduces a new format through which we hope to create an unusual atmosphere and help participants develop a deeper sense of connection with nature and its cycles. It is a journey through the themes of seasonality and awareness, experienced through silence, observation, and harmony with everything happening around us. It is about the silence that can say so much, and about inner peace as our natural state.

During the event, we will experience a tea ceremony featuring a carefully selected range of teas that reflect the philosophy of the evening, light vegetarian snacks created to complement the tea, and, most importantly, a story about the unity of human beings and nature. We will explore the principles that govern everything around and within us, the subtlety of the East with its aesthetics and depth, and meditation as the only path to salvation.

You are welcome to a special Masterclass, dedicated to the world of Japanese loose leaf tea and one of Japan's most celebrated ceramic traditions. Whether you are only beginning to explore Japanese green tea or already appreciate its remarkable diversity, this event offers an opportunity to deepen your understanding of Sencha while discovering the beauty, history, and craftsmanship of Kutani-yaki ceramics.

Together, we will explore the major categories of Japanese loose leaf tea, learning how they are cultivated, processed, and brewed to express their unique character. Throughout the tasting, we will compare several carefully selected teas from this year's expedition to Japan, discussing their aromas, sweetness, umami, texture, and balance while learning the techniques that allow each tea to reveal its full potential.

Alongside the tea tasting, we will immerse ourselves in the fascinating world of Kutani-yaki, one of Japan's most distinctive ceramic styles, renowned for its intricate decoration, and centuries-old artistic heritage. We will speak about the relationship between tea and ceramics in Japanese culture, discovering how the choice of teaware influences not only the preparation of tea but also the atmosphere, aesthetics, and overall tea experience.

Welcome to a special Matcha Masterclass dedicated to the world of Japanese tea culture and the art of the Japanese tea ceremony. Whether you are only beginning your journey with matcha or already appreciate its unique character, this event is an opportunity to discover the history, philosophy, craftsmanship, and aesthetics that have shaped one of Japan's most iconic traditions.

Together, we will explore how authentic ceremonial matcha is cultivated and produced, what distinguishes exceptional quality, and how to evaluate it through aroma, texture, balance, sweetness, umami, and aftertaste. We will taste a carefully selected collection of some of the finest ceremonial matcha that I brought from Japan during this year's expedition and learn the traditional method of preparing matcha using authentic Japanese utensils.

Beyond technique and tasting, this gathering is an invitation to experience the deeper beauty of Japanese tea culture. We will speak about the philosophy of the tea ceremony, the aesthetics of simplicity, harmony, respect, and presence, and the timeless values that continue to inspire tea practitioners around the world.
